ROTTING CHRIST

ROTTING CHRIST es posiblemente la banda relacionada con el Metal Extremo más importante de Grecia, la banda fue creada en Atenas en 1987 por los hermanos Themis y Sakis, en sus comienzos la banda practicaba un especie de Death Grind, así lo confirman sus dos primeras grabaciones que la propia banda no las considera como oficiales, “Leprosy of Death” de 1988 y “Decline’s Return” de 1989, a partir de ahí la banda cambiaría radicalmente su estilo interesándose por bandas como Bathory o Celtic Frost dando lugar sin saberlo a generar un estilo único como el Black griego que llevarían Rotting Christ hasta lo más alto con bandas como Varathorn, Thou art Lord, Necromantia, etc.

Sin duda la trayectoria de Rotting Christ es de órdago pero discos como el gran The Mighty Contract” o “Non Serviam” son los más auténticos, la banda ha experimentado después con su sonido creando bases donde el Gótico o la música sinfónica han tenido mucha participación, hoy en día es difícil encasillarlos dentro de un único estilo. Su más reciente trabajo es “The Heretics” de 2019.
